Kaduna NSCDC Acquires Equipment To Tackle Criminals

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,(NSCDC), Kaduna State Command, has acquired equipment aimed at boosting the performance of its officers and men to tackle criminals.

Some of the equipment which are capable of enhancing intelligence gathering for personnel according to the State Commandant, Alhaji Modu Bunu, have been acquired in spite of their huge cost considering the advantages attached to them.

Bunu who spoke during the distribution of the items, commended the  efforts of the Commandant-General, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu for his determination to reposition the corps.

The State Commandant warned officers and men against misuse of equipment and tools entrusted in their care.

According to him, procurement of the items has placed huge financial cost on government whose focus is aimed at addressing security challenges bedeviling the nation:”With the distribution of this equipment, you must rededicate yourselves to duties and redouble your efforts in justifying the huge expenditure incurred in procuring the items,” Bunu warned.

He expressed optimism that with the supply, significant improvement is expected in the areas of surveillance, intelligence, anti-vandalism,crowd control and combat operations.

In a statement by Kaduna NSCDC’s spokesman, ASC11 Orndiir Terzungwe, said from Area Commanders to Divisional Officers, Head of Departments and units,regular monitoring of operatives must be maintained constant reports must be forwarded to State headquarters for necessary action.

The statement explained that among some of the items distributed were intelligence gathering equipment, anti-riot helmets, stun-guns, body armours, anti-riot shields, vehicle scanners, metal detectors and anti-vandalism wares.
