KDHA Approves Over N39Bn As State First Supplementary Budget

Kaduna State House of Assembly Wednesday approved the first Supplementary appropriation bills in the sum of
N39,650,000,000.00.

The House received the report on the supplementary bill as well as set aside it’s standard rules number 7 section 3,1 to allow the third reading and thereafter have the approval.

The bill passed by the  lawmakers cited as the first supplementary appropriation of Kaduna state 2018 whose purpose is to make provision for its first supplementary Appropriation of fund in the state.

The supplementary appropriation capital expenditure stands at N37,171,749’308.00 while the Recurrent expenditure has the total sum of N2,478,250,692.00.

The request for the first supplementary appropriation followed the receipt of the Paris Club Debt refund and TETFUND as well as zonal high intervention in the sum of N30 billion, N1.150 billion respectively, and  External loan from the Indian Exim Bank in the sum of N8.5 billion.

The areas of allocation and utilization are as follows, Office of the Secretary to the state government with the sum of N100 million,
Teachers Service Board with the sum of over N12. Million, and Kaduna State University basic salary to over N115 million while the Primary Health care is to receive  N2.5 billion among others.

The House also confirmed two governors nominees whose names are Mr.Awwal Muhammed Makarfi as permanent secretary civil service commission and Prof. Joseph Gambo Akpoko as permanent commissioner, State Independent Electoral Commission.

The Speaker Aminu Abdullahi at the sitting also constituted a seven man adhoc committee to work on all outstanding bills before the House of  within two weeks, and announce that the House which is still on committee recess are expected to resume by 14th August, 2018.
