Red Cross Trains Niger Youths

The Niger state Branch of the Nigerian Red Cross Society has trained fifty volunteers in two communities on Community First Aid Training, CFAT  for the third quarter of the year in Gbako local government area of Niger State.The Communities are Edozhigi and Lemu.

  Speaking at the occassion,the State Branch Secretary of the Society,Alhaji Yahaya Abdullahi Mohammed said the training was in line with the directives of the National Headquarters of the Society to train more volunteers in the rural areas.

Alhaji Yahaya Adullahi noted that the CFAT was in line with the fundamental principles of the Red Cross on modern First Aid Techniques.

In his remarks at the occasion,the ICRC field Officer, Mr Daniel Esobor encouraged youth to join Red Cross for the benefit of their people in their respective local areas.

Also speaking ,the branch Tarining Officer,Mr Jerry Simon said the participants were trained on how to apply  modern first Aid Techniques to any casualty before taking him or her to the hospital in line with the fundamental principle of the  Red Cross.

In their separate speeches, the District Head of Edozhigi and that of Lemu in the area thanked the  state officials of the Red Cross for training  youths  in modern  first Aid treatment  and hoped that it will be extended to other local communities.
