Lions Club Int’l Donates Borehole To Nasarawa Community

The Wuse Lions Club District 404A2 has donated a borehole to Masaka, a Nasarawa State Community in Karu local government area of the state. The borehole, which was first drilled in 2006 and donated to the community by the club, went moribund few years later due to lack of maintenance but the club intervened again by refurbishing and upgrading it.

While handing over the borehole to the community, Lami Ahmed, the District President, when the project was first initiated in 2006, said: “We are more gladdened to come back to you again, much more than that is the fact that the man who gave us the piece of land on which to site the borehole is, is still alive.”

Ahmed appealed to other NGOs to emulate  Lions Club by coming to the aid of the poor and vulnerable.

The representative of Sarki of Masaka, Julius Samari, thanked the Lions Club delegation for coming back to refurbish the borehole. He solicited for more assistance for other parts of the town that still lack potable water and other social amenities.

“From the depth of our heart, and on behalf of the Sarki of Masaka, I want to thank the Lions Club sincerely for locating a remote place this. May the Lord bless you. But like Oliver twist, we are still asking for further assistance”.
