An Abuja based non- governmental organisation( NGO),Al-mushahid Initiative For Transparency and Accountability (AITA) has described as national embarrassment the recent defections of some senators from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition parties.
Reacting to the defections by some senators and their political allies, the group noted that the actions of the law makers are devoid of national interest, but an attempt to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari.
A statement signed by the president of the organisation, Amb.Aminu Majidadi, the group also noted that the current cloud of political uncertainty hovering over the nation is saddening, adding that the conduct of anti-party loyalists was unacceptable.
It continued, “It will interest you to know that President Muhammadu Buhari remains the only president to date in Nigeria political history that has made honest return of excess budget allocation to the federation’s account to the tune of N118 billion. In other climes, this is enough to attract accolades, but the opposition parties are so alien to this fact.”
The group also reiterated that the development is a repeat of the unpleasant dose of the past administration, while also noting that Nigerians are aware of the source of unfriendly political tension in the country and are resolute to return President Buhari, as democratically elected president come 2019, to salvage poor state of governance in the country.
