No fewer than two people were on Wednesday confirmed dead, while two others were critically injured in two separate accidents which occurred on two federal highways within the Ogun corridors.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the first accident, which happened along the Abeokuta-Sango/Ota-Oshodi expressway involved a hit-and-run Lagos state-painted commercial bus marked: (LAGOS) QS 291 AGL where a motorcyclist was crushed to death.
The second crash that happened at Sapade village, along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway involved a car marked (LAGOS) KJA 256 CK and a truck marked (LAGOS) FST 202 XT.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the state Traffic Enforcement and Compliance Corp (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the crashes, explained that the first accident happened around the Owode/Ijako axis of the Abeokuta-Sango-Ota expressway and was caused by the hit-and-run driver, who drove dangerously and hit the motorcyclist.
Akinbiyi explained that the Lagos-Ibadan accident which claimed a life was caused by the car which ran into a parked truck after losing control.
TRACE PRO however, explained that corpse of the Sango-Ota crash has been deposited at the morgue of Ifo General Hospital, while the injured persons as well as the corpse of that of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway crash were also taken to the Isara General Hospital.
