Dangiwa Wins Mortgage Finance Person Of The Year 2018

Managing director/chief executive officer of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Arc. Ahmed Dangiwa has won the 2018 edition of mortgage finance person of the year in the male category, courtesy of the Nigeria Housing Awards.
The Nigerian Housing Awards (NHA) is organised by Fesadeb Communications Limited, promoters of annual Abuja International housing show.
The organisers stated that the award was in recognition of the ongoing aggressive and innovative efforts of Dangiwa-led executive management team aimed at repositioning the bank to effectively deliver on its mandate of providing affordable social housing to Nigerian workers.
NHA commended the ongoing N500billion recapitalization drive of the bank to boost its capacity to create affordable mortgages which has received wide support from federal government and stakeholders.
Other achievements recorded by the bank that attracted the award are zero equity contribution for mortgage loans that are N5 million and below, reduction of equity for loans worth N15 million from 30 to 10 percent as well as increase in the provision of housing loans to Nigerian workers under the National Housing Fund (NHF).
Responding, Dangiwa thanked the organisers of the Nigeria Housing Awards for the recognition. He dedicated the award to the management team and staff of FMBN for their support, contribution and hard work in restructuring the bank to play a leading role in tackling the housing deficit and building a strong and robust mortgage finance market.
He also appreciated FMBN board chairman, Dr. Adewale Adeeyo and the minister of power, works and housing Babatunde Raji Fashola for their continued support.
