‘The Director General (DG), Door-to-Door Movement, Dr Ugbede Paul Ebije has said that the general acceptability of Muhammadu Buhari by youths across the country alone is enough to give the president landslide victory, in 2019.
The DG, who made this known while addressing newsmen in Lokoja yesterday, noted that Buhari’s landmark achievements in the fight against corruption, infrastructural development and agrarian revolution have endeared him to the Nigerian youth.
He said the unprecedented sense of belonging and empowerment enjoyed under the present All Progressives Congress’ (APC) administration at the federal level by the Nigerian youth have made them to feel at home with Buhari and to also have “a renewed hope in Nigeria.”
“This government has succeeded in just three years to liberate Nigeria from the economic woes that were created for the country by past administrations of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) through the fight against corruption and prudent management of the nation’s resources.
“President Buhari’s fight against corruption has dethroned and relegated old and corrupt Nigerian politicians to the background for youthful and innocent Nigerians to hold sway in the scheme of things and to be better positioned in the struggle for power and the building of a new Nigeria where peace and justice shall reign,” he said.
The Bayero University Kano trained medical doctor who is also aspiring to represent Idah Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, further noted that Buhari’s presidency has elevated the less privileged youth to the extent that “the most qualified amongst us who were hitherto marginalized by the corrupt few can now vie for important positions in order to bring development to their people.”
Dr Ebije said the 36 state coordinators of the Door-to-door Movement which were inaugurated recently would soon swing into action to campaign rigorously for the return of the President in order for him to consolidate on his developmental drive.
Speaking on his ambition, the medical doctor said he is aspiring to give quality representation to his people, lamenting that his constituency has never had good representation at the lower chamber since 1999.
He called on the people of Idah Federal Constituency to support his ambition and that of the President, stressing that only the APC government at all levels could bring better life to the people.
