A non-governmental organization, New Faces New Voices, is set to partner with LEADERSHIP on media coverage for its forthcoming Expo.
The country director, Aishatu Aminu presented the proposal for the partnership during a courtesy visit to LEADERSHIP corporate headquarters in Abuja, yesterday.
Aishatu while commending the newspaper for its balanced and objective reportage called on the paper to support the movement to empower women financially and socially.
She said the 2018 Expo which is the second edition is organised in collaboration with COMECO to give African women a platform to exhibit their wares.
Aishatu said the NGO has decided to go Pan African and needs media support before, during and after the Expo to inform Africans of the movement.
“We are here to request that you support the movement to empower women financially and socially. We propose that LEADERSHIP cover the pre, during and post activities of the Expo, “ she said.
Responding, the group managing director (GMD) LEADERSHIP Group Limited, Abdul Gombe assured the NGO of LEADERSHIP’s support, adding that the paper is gender sensitive and will support any movement that aims at promoting women.
He said the paper would study the proposal and act accordingly, adding that the request is doable.
Gombe however, called on the NGO to be open and fulfill its part of the partnership.
“Here in LEADERSHIP, we are gender sensitive, for us, anything that has to do with promoting women is welcome.
“This is something that interests us, your request is doable and we are going to do what we can but we need openness on your own part,” he added.
