Demi Lovato will be heading to rehab after she’s released from the hospital.
Last week, the 25-year-old “Skyscraper” singer was taken by ambulance to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after an apparent overdose. Lovato, who was suffering from extreme nausea and high fever earlier this week, remains in the hospital, but is expected to be released in the upcoming days.
Demi’s turned the corner and is doing much better. She will be released in the next few days and the plan is for her to go to rehab. She is starting to grasp the severity of what happened and that she almost died.
She is scared and grateful to be alive. Her family hasn’t left her side and have consulted with several people to figure out what the best plan of action is. Everyone wants her to take it very seriously and she seems to be.
Lovato is agreeing to go to rehab because she wants to make a statement to her fans, family and friends that she is strong and can recover.
Demi knows she needs help and her family has told her that this is the time to be a good example to her fans.
Following her hospitalization last week, a source said that Lovato has been in a downward spiral in recent months.
She had a sober coach who she cut out of her life a few months ago. She’s been in a downward spiral ever since and has not been doing well. She’s been heavily using and her friends have been very worried that this was going to happen.
Demi has been suffering her addiction disease for months now and has been spiraling.
Lovato, who has been very open about her struggles with drugs and alcohol, released a song in June called “Sober,” about breaking sobriety.
She made the decision to come out publicly about her relapse recently because she thought she could inspire her fans and it would help her keep on track, but she has been battling her own demons for months. Demi has been trying to stay busy with her tour but she has definitely been having her ups and downs.
