2019: Gombe Guber Hopeful Urges EFCC To Investigate Aspirants

A gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Gombe state,  Alhaji Ahmed Modibo Wali, has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate  the activities of politicians seeking different positions in the forth-coming elections.

Wali who made the call during a press conference in Gombe yesterday said the call is intended at checking the financial excesses of politicians who deceive  electorate with money.

He said the electorate on the other hand should be wary of money bag politicians whose stock in trade is not for good of the people but for selfish reasons, adding that the people of Gombe should elect somebody that can effect the change they long desire.

According to him, the people should not look at the money that they are being given, but what tangible projects or service they have provided to the people.

While condemning the spate of defections that has characterized the political scene in recent times, describing it as a betrayal of the electorate, he said APGA is well positioned as a national party without internal crises.

“APGA is is not an Igbo party, it has elected positions in different parts of the country including the North, particularly, Taraba, Niger, Nassarawa States and Abuja,” he stressed.

The retired immigration officer further advised politicians to try and understand their differences and  pursue their ambition with the interest and benefit of the country.
