Osun: APC Picks Alabi As Oyetola’s Running Mate

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has picked Barrister Benedict Adegboyega Alabi as the running mate to Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, who is the flag bearer of for the September 22nd gubernatorial election in Osun state.

It was gathered that Alabi emerged as the running mate to Oyetola after an exhaustive meeting that involved Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Gboyega Oyetola, the State Working Committee SWC of the APC and leaders and elders of the Osun West senatorial district.

Alabi, from Ikire in Irewole local government area of Osun West senatorial district was one of the governorship aspirants in the APC primary election held on July 20th, 2018

In a similar development, Professor Adeolu Durotoye also emerged the running mate to Alhaji Moshood Adeoti the candidate of Action Democratic Party ADP.

Professor Adeolu Durotoye on his own part was a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP but stepped down for Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi who lost to Senator Ademola Adeleke during the PDP primary election in the state.

Professor Durotoye, the Dean, Faculty of Political Science from Afe Babalola University hails from Osogbo, Osun Central Senatorial district of the state.

Durotoye who confirmed his running mate candidature in a telephone conversation with Leadership attributed his defection from PDP to ADP to the failure of the party to conduct a credible primary.

He described the Peoples Democratic Party PDP as a sinking party without a future in Osun State.
