Backstreet Boys’ Brian Littrell Supports Nick Carter Amid Rape Accusation

Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter was accused of rape by Dream singer, Melissa Schuman in February, and the case is currently under review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney. When asked by TMZ about the ongoing case on Wednesday (August 8), BSB’s Brian Littrell said the guys have their band mate’s back.
“Unfortunately, there are fame seekers that are out there,” Littrell said, adding, “In this situation, he’s been forthright and honest with us, and we have to stand beside our band mate. That’s all we can do.”
When asked about the potential impact the case could have on the group if it goes to trial, Littrell said, “We will have to assess that bridge when we get there. I honestly don’t feel like it will be there.”
Backstreet Boys are currently promoting their new single “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” released in May and so far peaking at No 19 on the Pop Songs airplay chart, and will continue their Las Vegas residency, “Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life” through next spring.
