In a move to demonstrate his commitment to the governorship contest and to clinch the party ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya, yesterday, donated vehicles and motorcycles to state, local government and wards party officials.
Our correspondent in Gombe reports that the aspirant donated 15 air conditioned Peugeot cars to the state secretary, chairmen of the 11 local government areas and three zonal party chairmen with 125 motorcycles to local government secretaries of the party and chairmen of the 114 wards across the state.
Inuwa Yahaya, who formally handed over the air -conditioned vehicles and motorcycles to the beneficiaries at his newly constructed multi- million naira campaign secretariat in Gombe, encouraged the delegates to be more committed and dedicated, and charged them to use the vehicles and motorcycles appropriately, especially in projecting the image of the party.
He re-emphasised that APC will take over power in Gombe in 2019. He said the party is united and more determined to occupy Gombe State government house come 2019.
Yahaya, who was the party flag bearer in the 2015 gubernatorial election but lost out to the PDP, also charged the party delegates to ensure that a credible candidate, who has the capacity to lead the party to victory, will emerge as the party’s flag bearer.
He promised to continue to support the party at all levels towards ensuring victory.
In his reaction, APC state chairman, Amangal Nite, commended Inuwa Yahaya for having the spirit to make such donation to the party, saying that he has shown that he is really a committed and loyal party member.
He further thanked the aspirant for his numerous contributions towards the growth of the party and encouraged the beneficiaries to use the vehicles for the interest of the party.
Our correspondent, reports that hundreds of enthusiastic supporters and residents of the city of Gombe were not deterred by the heavy showers that lasted for hours as they danced in the rain with Yahaya, rallying round Gombe town.
The presence of some famous Kannywood artists, like Rarara, Sani Zango, Daushe, Baban Chinedu and others added more colour to the event which was well attended.
