The deputy governor of Jigawa State, Barrister Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, declared his ambition to contest for Jigawa Northeast Senatorial seat under his party, the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Hassan announced his aspiration for the APC ticket in an interview with newsmen in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
He said, his decision to contest for the seat followed series of consultations with his political allies, friends, brothers and APC caucus within and outside the state.
“ I am serving my second term as deputy governor, I have served my state in different capacity, and I am sure I have something to offer for my country, my state and constituency if elected as senator.
“ I am aspiring for the ticket and this does not deter other aspirants from pursuing it, I have no intention or plan to use my current position to intimidate others, in fact, other aspirants have more advantage to go round for campaign as I am busy with my current office responsibilities” Hadejia said.
He however denounced the alligation of forcing the incumbent senator to dump APC for PDP, adding that “every body is aware that, the serving senator of my constituency declared his ambition for governorship and he might have joined PDP having foreseen brighter chance to get the ticket there”.
He promised to offer good and purposeful representation if elected into office by pursuing and supporting any law and bills that would promote peace, unity, and development of his constituency, state and Nigeria at large.
