Towards ensuring smooth celebration this year’s Eid-el-kabir with ease in the state, governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has ordered immediate commencement of August salary payment to all categories of workers this week.
Tambuwal who gave the directive to the state ministry of finance admonished them to ensure that August payments to all civil servants are duly paid within the week.
According to a statement signed by Tambuwal’s Director General, Media and Public Affairs, Abu Shekara, workers are to be paid from 15th August unfailingly.
The statement read in part, “The Governor of Sokoto State, Rt Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal CFR, Mutawallen Sokoto, has directed the State Ministry of Finance to pay the salary of state civil servants and local governments workers for August 2018 as from Wednesday August 15th.
“This is to enable the workers celebrate the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir with ease.
“The Governor has also ordered the suspension of deductions of the recent salary advance from civil servants salaries till further notice”.
In a related development, Tambuwal further commiserated with his Bayelsa state counterpart, Seriake Dickson over the death of his mother, Mrs Goldcoast Dickson.
Tambuwal who described the death as a loss to not only the Bayelsans but Nigerians at large, added that, God in His infinite wisdom has a purpose for every happening under the earth.
The governor further reminded his bereaved colleague to give thanks to Almighty God even in the face of his trying moment, adding that it is appointed unto every human being to drop this mortal body someday.
A statement by Tambuwal’s Director General, Media and Publicity, Abu Shekara quoted the governor as praying for eternal rest for the deceased Mama Gold coast Dickson.
“While alive, Mama Goldcaost Dickson lived a very humble, trustworthy, simple and selfless lifestyle laced with services to humanity at any given opportunity.
“Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal equally payed to Almighty God to grant governor, Sarieke Dickson the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”.
