Emirates SkyCargo, world’s largest international cargo airline has hit a milestone of over 800,000 deliveries of malaria tester kits and other medical equipment from South Korea to Nigeria, Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe since 2015.
According to a statement issued yesterday by the airline, these equipment were successfully received through Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates airline.
It stated that “this stems from the fact that Emirates SkyCargo offers one of the fastest transport times for cargo. It transports from Seoul, the capital of South-Korea to over 25 African destinations through Dubai.
“Speed is of essence when transporting critical medical and testing equipment, and this air cargo has transported and delivered lifesaving medical equipment with the enhanced cargo capacity offered on Emirates SkyCargo’s all wide body fleet of Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 passenger aircraft within the shortest possible period.”
In addition, Emirates SkyCargo also offers two state – of – the – art cargo terminals in Dubai, including a EU GDP certified dedicated pharma handling facility. This apparatus ensures that cargo including healthcare and pharmaceutical shipments have a rapid and secure transit through the air cargo carrier’s hub.
Recently, Emirates SkyCargo also received the prestigious 2018 Carrier Award for Reliability and Excellence (CARE) for the second year in a row from DHL Global Forwarding for the transportation of temperature sensitive pharmaceuticals.
In Nigeria, Emirates SkyCargo ensures that customers’ consignments move within the shortest acceptance cut-off time at origin, and highest loading and delivery priority at the customer’s chosen destination.
With such provision, customers can be rest assured that their important documents and packaged boxes will be carried as an unaccompanied baggage (UCB) or courier on air waybills, and as an additional feature.
