Lagos Lawmaker Raises The Alarm Over Heaps Of Refuse`

A member of Lagos House of Assembly, representing Alimosho Constituency 1 Hon. Bisi Yusuff has raised the alarm over heaps of refuse in Lagos metropolis, saying it is high time the state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode took proactive measures over the mould of filth to avert epidemic outbreak in the state. Yusuff who stated this at a town hall meeting held with stakeholders in his Constituency said, “If it requires an emergency to clear the wastes, we will support the governor to achieve this. We need to prevent epidemic”. The lawmaker also said election should no longer lead to violence in Lagos, adding that candidates should campaign based on issues and not sentiments. He added that the aims of the stakeholders’ meeting is for everyone to have the right to take part in the environment of the government of Lagos state. Yusuff restated that every Lagos resident should have equal access to public service as well as a more conducive environment to be created for credible elections in 2019. Based on this premise he enjoined, Leaders, members and supporters of political parties and groups to assume the responsibility to conduct themselves in a way that promote peace and unity of purpose during and after the elections. While commending Speaker , of the Lagos State House, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa for the idea of the town hall meeting, he pleaded with religious and community leaders to ensure that they enlighten their followers for peaceful and successful conducts during and after the forthcoming elections.
