Police Begin Investigation Into Murder Of 105-year-old Man In Enugu

The Enugu State command of the Nigeria police has commenced full scale investigations into the alleged killing of one Chief Eze Nwah Onuh of Ekposhi Umuidoko of Ogurute in Igboeze North local government area of Enugu State.

A statement from the spokesman of the command in the state, Ebere Amaraizu, said it was gathered that on that fateful day, some suspects identified as 22-year-old Onyeka Abugu and 19-year-old Nnamdi Eze, had conspired and strangled the 105-year-old.

According to the police, the suspects were nabbed after an intelligent information was leaked to them. “They are now helping the operatives in their investigations while the body of the deceased has been deposited in a hospital mortuary for medical attention. The alleged and unfortunate incident is said to have occurred on August 9.”

He further disclosed that the command, through its operatives of the state criminal intelligence and investigations department, have commenced investigation into the incidence.He urged the court to dismiss the charge.

Ruling, Justice Adamson freed the defendants based on the DPP’s advice.
