Police Assure Adequate Security During Celebration



The commissioner of police in Gombe State, Mr Shina Tairu Olukolu, has assured that adequate security has been put in place to ensure a peaceful celebration of Eid-el- Kabir in the state.
The CP gave the assurance over the weekend at the command headquarters, while parading some suspects arrested in the state in connection with various degrees of crime. Olukolu said the update on crimes is, “to reiterate the will, determination and resolve of all the officers and men of the command, particularly at this period of Sallah celebrations, to continue to be proactive in a bid to combat, prevent and detect crimes and criminalities in all parts of the state in line with constitutional responsibilities of the Nigeria Police force”

He explained that the parade and update was aimed at assuring the people of Gombe that the command was on top of its responsibility of ensuring that they slept with their two eyes closed.
He advised members of the public to go about their legitimate businesses without fear and also urged them to avail the police with prompt and necessary information that would assist them in apprehending criminals. The commissioner further extended his goodwill message to the entire people of the state, especially the executive governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar lll and all members of the emirate council, the state Assembly and other security agencies in the state for their unwavering support and assistance to the command.
