The Northeast Zonal Coordinator Buhari Campaign Organization, Dr. Abiso Kabir, urged Muslim faithful and indeed all Nigerians to use the occasion of Eid-el-adha to pray for the peace, development and prosperity of the country.
He also used the occasion to rejoice over the safe return of President Muhammadu Buhari from London after his 10days vocational break.
This was contained in statement, on Monday even as he admonished that the tough challenges being experienced were just short termed as measures were being put in place by the current administration to enhance the quality of lives of the people.
The Zonal Coordinator in his Statement said, “We may be facing tough challenges now, but I believe they are just for the short term. Measures put in place by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration will have positive impact in the medium and long term.
“This administration has shown strong will to diversify the economy and reduce reliance on oil. That measure has started yielding result through the launching of Anchor borrowers programme of Central Bank of Nigeria successfully launched by His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari,”
He however said that various initiatives have been implemented to mitigate the effect of the economic downturn, with majority of the people of northeast answering government’s call to return to farm especially in Borno state and the northeastern Nigeria in general.
“Because our citizens accepted the call by his His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari and incentives to return to farm, we expect to have bumper harvest this year too especially in crops like rice, wheat, onion and millet. This will go a long way in enhancing the income of the region and at the same time tackling other socio-economic challenges confronting northest. ”
While urging all Nigerians and especially the Muslim faithful to continue to pray for the country, Dr. Abiso also prayed to God for a hitch-free sallah celebration in northeast and all over the federation.
Furthermore, he said: “This season calls for forgiveness and love for one another. There is need for Nigerians to be united and be their brothers’ keeper in spite of all odds”.
“The faithful should use the opportunity of this Eid-el-adha to deepen their faith in Allah and renew the spirit of obeisance to the will of the Almighty in accordance with the inimitable faith of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
“We should never forget that even in trials and temptations, our love for our neighbour must never diminish and our obedience to the will of Allah must be unwavering.
“As we celebrate the auspicious eid-al-adha, I urge all Nigerians to spare a moment for our country and pray for her to surmount her present challenges. We should unite in our collective resolve to forge ahead despite our seemingly intractable problems and we should remember that all Nations of the world have their peculiar challenges.”
He urged the Muslim brothers and sisters to imbibe the spirit of peace, sacrifice, love, piety, tolerance and mutual co-existence to underscore the significance of the festival which he noted was obedience and willingness to sacrifice to Almighty Allah, as exemplified in the story of Prophet Ibrahim and his son.
Dr. Kabir, commended Muslims in the northeast for their peaceful disposition and industry, which has contributed to the development of the region,he therefore plead for their support and prayers as usual towards the actualization of the manifesto of President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.
