The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) has issued the Notice of Election for the December 1, 2018 local government election in the State.
The notice which was issued by the Commission during the weekend by its lawyer, Wole Ayeni, in Akure was an indication of kick starting all the activities heralding the December 1, 2018 Local government election.
Mr. Ayeni (Esq) said the publication of the notice was in fulfiment of the requirements of the law as provided in section 30 (1) of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended).
He said the meeting with political parties for the release of Electoral Guildlines started on August 15 as its publication end by September 6.
According to him, the conduct of all parimaries for the local government election by political parties to elect their candidates will start in August 28 and ends by September 6.
Collection of candidates lists with Form CF 001 Affidavit/Personal Particulars of candidates and Form CF 002 for the Chairmanship and Councillorship election would start by August 28 till September 6.
The political parties are expected to commence campaigns for the Local Government and Councillor election on August 23, 2018.
All collected forms including forms CF 001 and CF 002 are expected to be submitted on September 17 at ODIEC office for the Chairmanship and Councillorship election.
The commission further also said collection of forms for the elections by political parties would starts on September 24 and will end by 28th of same month.
Publication of Personal Particulars of candidates (CF001) Chairmanship and Councillorship Elections ends by September 24.
The Verification of candidates will start by October 2018 while parties can replace/withdrawn Chairmanship and Councillorship candidate on before the October 9, 2018.
Publication of personal particulars (CF001) of substituted candidate(s) for Chairmanship and Councillorship Elections (if any) is penned for October 16.
The closing date for the submission of Nomination Forms by Political Parties for both Chairmanship and Councillorship Elections ends by October 17.
The Publication of list of validated candidates for Chairmanship and Councillorship Elections would be done by October 18 and 19, 2018.
The voters register to be used for the December poll will be display at ward/collation centre on October 22 to 25th while notice for the election will published on October 30 to 2nd November 2018.
Names of party agents both for the Chairmanship and Councillorship poll are expected to be submitted to ODIEC, before November 8.
The pasting of list of adhoc staff for the election at Area Offices/LG will start as from 9 to 22 of November.
The commission penned last day of campaigns for both Chairmanship and Councillorship for November 29 which is 24 hours to the day of the election, December 1st 2018 which is expected to hold in the 18 LGAs.
