Etsu Kwali, HRH Audu Shaban Nizozo (III) has called on Muslim faithful to close rank and work for the peace, unity and development of the country as they celebrate Eid- El – Kabir.
In a message on the occasion, Shaban noted that it is time for sober reflection and for all to emulate total obedience to God like Prophet Abraham, who was rewarded for his obedience.
The royal father stressed the need for all Muslims to uphold the tenets of the celebration, which according to him, were the virtues of sacrifice and obedience portrayed by Abraham when God instructed him to sacrificed his son, Isaac as a test of his faith, but was given a ram instead.
He noted that obedience to constituted authority was an important way to rid the nation of all the challenges in all their complexities.
“We are facing complexities in the country, because our systems are getting decayed. If there is no synergy between citizens and the leadership there can be no progress.
The youths especially, have to see themselves as future leaders and work consciously to safeguard the unity of this country by shunning violence and other social vices” he said.
He further added that youths must shun drugs, noting that drug abuse among youths is becoming a menace, especially during festivities, while advising that the youths must take a centre stage in repositioning the country.
