Indigenous rapper, Phyno has released the visual of his most recent single titled ’Fuwa Sewa’.
The artiste, who has made his mark in music industry with his distinct Igbo rap, rekindled an appreciation for traditional hip-hop amongst fans of the genre. Now, the single’s video is evoking a deeper appreciation for the art.
Directed by Clarence Peters, the ’Fuwa Sewa’ video takes the monochrome route, and invites us to pay just as much attention to the visuals as we do the music.
Born Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike from Enugu State, Phyno is a rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer signed to his record label, Penthauze Music.
The fourth of five children, the rapper officially started his musical career as a producer in 2003. Renowned for rapping in the Igbo language, he started working on his debut album; ‘No Guts No Glory’ in 2012.
He released “Ghost Mode” as the album’s lead single featuring Olamide to critical acclaim also in the same year. The success of the single earned him various awards including Best Collabo at both The Headies and Nigerian Entertainment Awards.
Following the success of his debut album, Phyno and Olamide collaborated to release a joint album titled “2 Kings” on 1 April, 2015. His third album; The ‘Playmaker’ was released on 1 November, 2016.
