The Yobe State Chairman of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Hon Aliyu Buba Amshi, has commended the Presidential Committee On North East Initiative (PCNI) for training over 1000 primary school teachers in the state.
The state chairman, who disclosed this to Leadership Weekend in Damaturu, Yobe State capital, said the training of the teachers will address trauma counseling and psychosocial support, security and safety as well as teaching techniques among others.
According to him, the collaboration with Yobe State University for a five day capacity building workshop for primary school teachers is a great achievement which would promote the state’s education under the leadership of PCNI.
He urged the teachers who participated in the training to use the knowledge to impact positively on their students.
“The training will benefit the students in the area of learning because teachers have learned new ways of making the classroom conducive for them,” he said.
