Al-Makura Appoints Governing Boards, Heads Of Institutions



The governor of Nasarawa State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has approved the appointment of Governing Council for the state owned university and three other tertiary institutions of learning.

The approval was contained in a statement signed by the the secreatry to the State Government, Mohammed Hassan Abdulahi, in Lafia.

The affected institutions are Nasarawa State University Keffi, to be headed by Prof Adamu Beiki, the pioneer VC as the prochancellor and chairman.

Others are Nasarawa State College of Education, Akwanga to be headed by Malam Mahmud Bako Zubairu as board chairman, College  of Agric Lafia, has Dr Dominic Adagazu Bako as chairman, while the Nasarawa State Polytechnic Lafia, has His Royal Highness, Muhammad Sani Bako II, Emir of Karshi as chairman

The governor has also approved the reappointment of Dr Rebecca Isaac Umaru as the Provost of the Nasarawa State College of Education, Akwanga for another term of four years with effect from 12 September, 2018.

“Similarly, His Excellency has also approved the appointment of Dr Yahaya Musa Maikeffi as the Ag. Provost of the Nasarawa State College of Agriculture, Lafia with effect from 23rd August, 2018.

“In another development, His Excellency, the governor of Nasarawa State has approved the appointment of Danlami Ofoku Ikpobose as the executive secretary, Nasarawa State Scholarship Board with effect from 23rd August, 2018. In view of this development, the appointment of the suspended executive secretary of the Scholarship Board, Suleiman Abdul-Wahab Suleiman, has been terminated with immediate effect,” the statement reads.
