PMB’ll Lose Ondo State In 2019 If …

A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state has called on the National leadership of the party to wade into the crisis currently rocking the state chapter of the paty.

The group known as the “Ondo APC Mandate” said there was need for the party’s National Chairman, Mr Adams Oshiomhome to urgently intervene before the members lose hope and work against it.

It also warned the leaders that if the crisis is not abated, the chances of President Muhammadu contesting a second term in office in the state might be hang in the balance.

Olufemi Micheal, the Converner of the Group, accused Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of causing disaffection in the party in Ondo State.

Micheal said that Mr. Akeredolu has created a factional group within the party known as ‘Aketi Group’ to shut out loyal members thereby causing disintegration and factionalisation.

He also alleged that the Governor  has since been seriously mobilizing against the direct primary for the forthcoming party’s primaries.

“It is evidently clear to all and sundry in Ondo APC that anybody who is not a member of Aketi group within APC is not a bona-fide member of APC.

“This has gone a long way to create unnecessary opposition and division within the party in the state.

“As it is observed that virtually all the secretly elected congress members in Ondo APC are all members of the so called Aketi group.

“This Aketi group saga has further disintegrated the party in the state, infact if not for some party stalwarts who are close to the presidency, 75% of our members would have defected to other political parties.

“However, it is crystally clear that 80% of core APC members i.e people from ACN, CPC, ANPP are not recon with by the governor as APC members, he rather embrace and accommodate core PDP members who are now in Aketi group in his Government.

“Before it is too late we urge our national of APC led by Comr. Adam Oshiomhole, to as a matter of urgency, wade into ONDO APC crisis, because we don’t want Mr. President to lose in Ondo State.

“All what has been cause by Gov. Akeredolu in the state, is demarketing the political future of both the APC and Mr. President.

“As it stands, Mr President cannot get 10% votes from Akeredolu led government if it continues like this.

“Aketi Group within Ondo APC

It is evidently clear to all and Sundry in Ondo APC that anybody who is not a member of Aketi group within APC is not a bonafide member of Ondo APC.

“This has gone a long way to create unnecessary opposition and division within the party in the state.

Alex Kalejaye, Publicity Secretary of APC in the state denied any crack in the ruling party while reacting to the allegations against the Governor.

Mr Kalejaye said the appointment in the the positions of government in the state by Governor Akeredolu was based on the contribution of the appointees to the party and ability to deliver for the President in 2019.

“You will agree with me that it is impossible for every dedicated member of the party to be appointed at the same time, considering the limited resources available.

“Our appeal therefore is for leaders and members of our party to be patient with the administration.

“As long as we are in one accord, and remain in power, chances are that those that have not be patronized today would take their soonest.

“We only need to stay together and work for the success of the party in future elections.

“The welfare of our members and development of the State are not negotiable.
