Rev. Uja Tor UJa, NCPC Flags Off Easter Pilgrimage To Israel

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) has reassured the Church of its readiness to cooperate in organising and developing the structure of pilgrimage to make it easier and more productive for the development of Nigeria.

The executive secretary, NCPC, Rev Tor Uja made this known yesterday when he received a delegation of Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM) on a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja.

Uja noted that the goal of pilgrimage is to achieve the focal elements of prayer, development of the church and building the nation to become global development element for the world to see.

He urged Christians to work for the growth of Nigeria and always play leadership role in building the nation.

“We want pilgrimage to be holistically developmental that all arms of the church should be involved to move the nation forward,” he said.

The Supreme Knight, Diamond Ovotu Ovueraye, who led the delegation of the Knights, earlier solicited the support of NCPC for their yearly pilgrimage in Uganda.

Ovueraye who noted that the Order commenced its yearly pilgrimage to Uganda in 2003, said the objective of the pilgrimage is to make the country a centre piece of African pilgrimage.

He called on the commission  to recognise the KSM yearly pilgrimage to Uganda as one of the Christian pilgrimages.
