A pro-President Muhammadu Buhari political group, Good Governance Ambassadors of Nigeria (GOGAN), yesterday said the South East geo-political zone might not get the presidency seat in the next 20 years if they do not support the second term ambition of the president.
National chairman, GOGAN, Chief Felix Idiga, stated this during a meeting of the State/Zonal Coordinators of the group in Abuja. While charging the Igbo not to waste the opportunity of producing a successor to President Buhari, Idigi warned that the South East zone, might not have another chance until the next 20 years if the current opportunity is not utilised.
He said, “I believe, especially people from the South East, I am from the East. People from the South East know that this is the only President that will hand over power to an Igbo man to rule Nigeria after 2023.”
Idiga however charged Nigerians to vote for Buhari’s reelection in 2019, stressing that his integrity is what Nigerians deserve at a time like this.
He added that there is a boost in infrastructural development in the country, citing projects like the Abuja Light Rail, the Ajaokuta Steel Project and a host of others.
In her remarks, the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, commended the GOGAN chairman and coordinator who she said is spending his personal finances to see to the success of the project.
She said, “Stability was the first thing in our campaigns. You have to secure a country first before you can efficiently manage it. Before businesses can thrive, security is paramount. That is why we lay so much emphasis on securing the country, and that is what President Muhammadu Buhari is doing”.
