LEADERSHIP Friday recalls that the Borno State government, through the commissioner of Health, Dr Haruna Mshelia, had on Tuesday, while briefing newsmen over outbreak of the disease, said over I, 068 persons across 10 Communities and IDPs camps in the state, contracted acute watery diarrhea, with 35 recorded in Madinatu IDPs Camp, and 25 hospitalised. The commissioner attributed filthy environment, coupled with contaminated water resulting from open defecation by the residents, which wash excretes into drinking water or streams where they fetch water to drink, as the cause.
