At 66 Bishop Kukah Remains A Blessing To Humanity — Otalike

Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Dicocese, Matthew Hassan Kukah remained a blessing to not only this generation but generations yet to come, seasoned broadcaster, Mr Mathews Otalike said yesterday.

Otalike, a former Director with the NTA spoke on behalf of the Laity council of Sokoto Catholic Diocese during a low-keyed celebration to mark Bishop Kukah’s 66th birthday, added that, the man of God was simply but a blessing to humanity in general.

According to him, he has followed very closely every of Bishop Kukah’s comments, actions and presentations from all parts of the world and came to a conclusion that they are but undiluted realities of live.

While stressing that, Bishop Kukah look half the age of 66, Otalike said Sokoto Diocese is lucky to have him hence his accessibility, simplicity and tolerance are amongst those qualities that are very uncommon.

“Despite his talents remained a special gift to the world, Bishop Kukah has quality time for everybody no matter how is the person. And that alone is the height of evangelism” Otalike said.

Speaking earlier, chairman of the low-keyed occassion, which was held in Bishop Kukah’s residence, Mr Ibeh Everist said they have come to celebrate Bishop Kukah for his exemplary lifestyle.

“Bishop Kukah has positively touched so many lives both in the state, country and world over. He is one man of God that speak truth to anybody not minding whose ox is gored.

“We have gathered here, though in small number to celebrate in the spirit of love, obedience and loyalty for all that Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah have been doing for humanity”.

Reacting to the unexpected birthday ceremony, Bishop Kukah thanked everybody and said he is happy that people on their own have chosen to celebrate him.

Kukah who noted that appreciation is a great source of encouragement, assured of his readiness to give in his very best in the vineyard of the Lord.

Sister Ann-An Iko, Rev Father John Adili as well as the Vicar General od the Diocese all spoke on behalf of the Sisters and Priest of the Diocese respectively.
