The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that 537,874 new voters were registered during the Continuous Voters Registration (CRV) exercise from 27th April 2017- 31st August, 2018 in Kaduna State.

According to the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Abdullahi Adamu Kaugama, 302,342 Male and 235,532 female were registered.

A further break down of the details are: PVCs collected 52,507, uncollected 269, 787, corrections 29,179, defaced 4,018, lost cards 17,298, yet to be printed 9,622( up to 2017), inter- state transfer 8,239 ( from other states to Kaduna), intra- state transfer 19,435 (within the state).

The REC informed that the collection of PVCs will not end with the CVR exercise, stressing that the PVCs will continue until a week before the general elections in 2019.

“With the conclusion of the CVR exercise, the public is expected to coke for the display, hearing of claims and objections from Tuesday 4th to Saturday 8th September, 2018 at our local government area offices”.

He called on those registered and yet to collect their PVCs to do so at our LGA offices which will remain open as always, while those who registered , got transferred, lost or whose OVCs are yet to be printed etc to be rest assured of getting their PVCs before the general elections

The REC further assured the public of the commission’s commitment to the conduct of free, fair and credible elections in 2019, while commending the good people of Kaduna State for their continued cooperation and understanding.
