The Acting Executive Chairman of Benue Internal Revenue Service, (BIRS) Mr. Terzungwe Atser has disclosed plans to establish a result oriented tax administration for the state.
He said, when in place, the structure would ensure strict compliance with the global best standards in tax laws.
Speaking in his office in Makurdi when he received the leadership of Nzorov Development Association, Mr. Atser disclosed that, his plan to reposition BIRS for optimal performance would also change the perception about the operations of the agency.
He also assured that he would do everything within his capacity to work for the benefit of the people and government of Benue state.
He said the new tax administration would bring out the generation and remittance of more revenue to the government treasury.
In his remark, President of Nzorov Development Association, Mr. Samuel Atule hailed the new policies and decisions so far taken by BIRS chairman to improve on revenue generation and tax administration in the state.
He urged the chairman to work hard to step up Interally Generated Revenue (IGR) to enable the state government execute people oriented projects and boost the economy of the state.
