Former deputy governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Patrick Ekpotu, yesterday, lambasted former governor of the state, Senator Godswill Akpabio, over his reported controversial comment to lead the “invasion” of the state in 2019, in the same manner the infamous Adolf Hitler did to Poland.

The former governor had made the comment while addressing his supporters at a reception in his honour by some youths in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, after he dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ekpotu, a former deputy in his first term as governor of the state, in a statement, described the former Senate Minority leader’s comment, as “Unfortunate, insulting to Akwa Ibom people and a threat to the peace in the state”

He stressed that such attitude by a former governor, who had ruled the state for eight years, was disappointing.
