About 650 people have benefited in the just concluded free medical screening organized by the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Mr Ganiu Kola Egunjobi in conjunction with Grassroots Health Initiative, Dokita, United Kingdom.
The screening exercise which ranged from blood pressure and sugar test, HIV screening and counselling, general medical examination and health talk was done at the council secretariat.
Speaking on the medical outreach after his various health screening, the council boss Kola Egunjobi clarified the motive behind the free health program, saying “Not every person will have the capacity to bear the cost of hospital expenses that was we organized this.”
He added, “this is just the beginning, the next one will be bigger than this.”
Egunjobi likewise exhorted the gathering on the need for regular medical check-up so as to know their health status.
The council Medical Officer of Health, Dr. A. A. Akintayo commended the council boss on the initiative, saying, “Mr Chairman has done well most especially in area of health, our people are grateful for this gesture.’’
