Etsu Kwali, HRH Audu Shaban Nizozo III, has charged Igede community to always promote peaceful coexistence with other ethnic groups living in Kwali area council.
Speaking during a coronation ceremony of Igede chief in his palace at the weekend, Nizozo stated that the Kwali chiefdom is putting measures to ensure an inclusive leadership for all ethnic groups in the area.
The royal father explained that the measure would consolidate on government and communal efforts towards managing crisis and maintaining security.
“Our efforts are to ensure inclusive administration. It is our hope that we will have all ethnic groups in Kwali, actively engaged in affairs of the kingdom. We want to ensure the cooperation of all residents, especially when it comes to crisis management.”
Responding after his coronation, the Ada Igede 1 of Kwali area council, Sylvester Ekpenta Odeh, noted that the coronation would bring the Igede people closer to other ethnic groups in the area and also foster a sense of unity among them.
Also speaking, the chairman of Igede Community Association in Kwali, Mathias Ikpechi stressed that the occasion would help unite all Igede people, noting that it was also an opportunity to carry the people along.
