Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon Abdullahi Adamu Candido has threatened to revoke a partnership agreement it entered with a private contractor for the construction of Karshi community upgraded market.
Candido, who made the threat during an inspection tour of the project, however expressed satisfaction with the progress of work so far, but urged the contractor to speed up the job or the council, would engage another partner.
He revealed that the proposed AMAC Grassroots Radio would be 70 to 90 per cent completed in three months time, but regretted that the Karshi Market is still facing 25 per cent completion challenges even after eight months.
“We have visited the AMAC Grassroots Radio, which is in a state of growth and development, not yet satisfactorily completed, but within the next two to three months, it should be almost 70 to 90 completed.”
While also inspecting a fencing project at Orozo Primary School, Candido explained that the project was an effort to secure the school land from further encroachment, noting that residents had erected structures on the school land.
He pledged the commitment of his administration to provide more dividends of democracy to the residents, adding that more transformers would be delivered, while the ones yet to be installed would be done at the same time.
