Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido

As the 2019 elections approach, chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon Abdullahi Adamu Candido has charged traditional rulers in the council to ensure peaceful conduct amongst politicians and other key players.

Speaking when he paid a courtesy visit to the Sakaruyi of Karu, Candido appealed to traditional rulers to help checkmate the activities of politicians during the period.

He explained that the visit was meant to assess the level of work on the ongoing projects in Karu community and its environs, reiterating his resolve to complete the projects before the end of the year.

“To ensure peaceful atmosphere during the activities leading to the forthcoming 2019 elections, I am appealing to traditional rulers to help maintain civility during campaigns for elective positions.”

Responding, Sakaruyi Karu, Emmanuel Kyauta Yepwi, assured that the traditional stool would continue to promote peace, irrespective of the season, just as he commended Candido for the way he has been leading the council, especially the issue of salary payment.

Yepwi revealed that the rehabilitation of the road, linking Karu and other communities in neighbouring Nasarawa State had already improved economic activities in the domain.
