In its effort to increase its membership, the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has inducted 34 full and 422 associate members into the institute.

The induction ceremony was held in Lagos with the theme, ‘‘Marketing Professionalism: The Inexhaustible Gains of Institutional Networking’’

The second Vice President of the institute, Mr. Femi Kolapo Oyewole, charged members on diligence and creativity, as they contribute their quota to the development of the institute and Nigeria at large.

He commended their positive contributions to the industry while stressing the importance of honesty on the field, adding, “You need to go forth and bear fruits.”

In his lecture Mr. Peter Oriavwote advised marketers to always listen more and talk less, adding that effective branding was key to successful marketing: “Define your brand, maintain it and soar like eagle. Be guided by truth, fairness and goodwill.”

He explained that the benefits derivable from being a member of a professional body were inexhaustible, including professional recognition, networking opportunities, career development, eligibility for discounts, free access to newsletter, seminars and annual conferences attendance, support system, job bunting and so on.

Oriavwote further advised members to, “avoid any behaviour or activity that could bring our institute into disrepute.”
