Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon Abdullahi Adamu Candido has canvassed support for President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
Speaking at the Sa’peyi Garki palace during an inspection of projects in the area, Candido charged traditional rulers as custodians of culture, to encourage their subjects to support President Buhari’s re-election bid in 2019 for the progress and development of the nation.
He maintained that President Buhari must return to continue to build the fortunes of the country and to provide dividends of democracy to the people.
Speaking further the chairman called on the traditional rulers to promote peace for a peaceful conduct of the forthcoming election.
In his remarks, the Chief of Garki, HRH Usman Nga-Kupi commended the chairman for his good works and urged him not to relent in his efforts to better the lives of residents of the council.
The traditional ruler noted that the residents have seen the dividends of democracy in terms of provision of social amenities and urged the residents to support a government that has the interest of its people at heart.
Usman urged his subjects to eschew politics of bitterness, adding that those yet to collect their permanent voter’s cards should endeavour to do so in order to vote a candidate of their choice.
