Group under the aegis of Young African Leadership Initiatives (YALI), a non-governmental organisation powered by the United States Embassy in Nigeria, has on Wednesday advocated for transparency and accountability in all sectors.

The group made the call during a 3 days submit tagged ‘Transparency and Accountability’ in Abuja.

YALI is a group of young professionals who use their skills, time, and resources to create positive impacts in Nigerian communities.

The group is committed to empower Nigerian youths to generate wealth.

Speaking on behalf of the organisation at the event, YALI’s general secretary, Miss Samara said that the group is committed to attracting young entrepreneur of like minds to change the narrative in the Nigeria economy.

According to her, “YALI Abuja branch comprises of young professionals trying to assist government by making sure that they engage in businesses to earn a living instead of depending on government.

“We do outreaches to make sure youths are educated on the need to empower themselves. We share ideas and do feasibility study on issues affecting members before giving attention.”

In his remarks, Deputy Coordinator, YALI Abuja, Mr. Onyendika Kinsley said, “the Initiative which is now in Nigeria is a programme to enable young professionals to harness talents to pull resources together to promote the economy.

“Today we have YALI Network, the regional leadership centre and the face-to-face where we connect with individuals to share idea, do project together. Though it is more of talking but a combination of young people doing great thing.
