The newly installed Obaro of Kabba, HRM Dele Olowoniyi Solomon, has reiterated the unflinching support of the people of Okunland for the administration of Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello for his good gestures. The first class traditional Ruler who doubles as the Chairman of Okun Area Traditional Council made the declaration yesterday during a courtesy visit to the special adviser to the governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr (Dr) Abubakar Sadiku Ohere. The Obaro who re-echoed his appreciation to Governor Bello for the trust reposed in his person to serve his people thanked his host for the just and efficient advisory role he played as the focal person on traditional matters, which led to his appointment.
He said the people of Kabba and the entire Okunland cherish the infrastructural growth and development in the zone under the leadership of Governor Bello and that they have pledged their overwhelming endorsement of the governor.

Responding, Engr Ohere thanked the Obaro-led royal delegation for honouring him with their presence and appreciated God Almighty for using the government of Governor Bello to bring everlasting peace to the land. He said it is on record that it is the first time the stool is being ascended without much rancour, a success he attributed to the governor’s respect for rule of law and due process as entrenched in his exemplary style of leadership despite agitations, pressures and expression of mixed interests. He urged the new Obaro to rule with utmost fear of God and entrench in his rulership all inclusiveness, justice, equity and equality as enshrined in the “appointment, disposition and establishments of traditional council law” in order to sustain peace, love, oneness, harmony and tranquillity in his kingdom.

He charged the Obaro to form a synergy with the Maigeri of Lokoja, the Ohimege of Koton-karfe and other traditional rulers from the West to ensure peace reign across the West and pray for the government of Yahaya Bello as the government requires their prayer and support now than before. On his part, the Chief of Staff to the governor, Edward David Onoja, described Governor Bello as a completely detribalised leader whose selfless, fair, just and equitable manner of governance has brought about the much needed peace, unity and harmony among communities and the three zones of the state. Onoja said the cooperation and support of the natural rulers is more than required in their various domain for the continuity of Governor Bello and attraction of more dividend of democracy to the grassroots.
