RTEAN Passes Vote Of No Confidence On Isewele, Muhammed

The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) yesterday passed a vote of no confidence on the erstwhile national president, Musa Shehu Isiwele and his deputy national president, Admin, Musa Muhammed. It would be recalled that the duo were replaced by an acting president Comrade Osakpamwan Eriyo over alleged misappropriation, fraudulent activities, abuse of office and flagrant violation of the union’s constitution in line with Article 9, Section B, of RTEAN Amended Constitution, 2013.
A statement signed by the national secretary general, RTEAN, Comrade Yusuf Adeniyi said that the vote of no confidence passed on the duo were in reference to the various allegations levied against them. He alleged that the duo have been using their personal account to run the association and alleged that just N36, 000 was found in the association’s bank account.
Adeniyi ordered that the properties in their possession must be returned back to the association.The statement reads in part: “By these decisions, their membership of the association ceases to exist henceforth.

“The general public, ministries, all government agencies, parastatals, security agencies, members of diplomatic corps, traditional rulers, civil society groups, students and youth organisations should take note.
‘“They are henceforth, advised to desist from transacting any business with them in the name of the association anybody or group who does any business with them is at his or her own risk
‘’All other state chairmen and their respective executives remain intact except Lagos State Executives which have been dissolved.”
The national secretary general of the association also called on all security agencies in the country to support the association in this regard to halt all forms of corruption in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s drive to halt corruption in the nation.
