Former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, on Friday, received the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomole and Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, at his country home of Mundubawa, in preparatory steps to his defection from the PDP to the ruling APC.

During the visit, Shekarau told Oshiomole and the entire executive members that anybody who wrote the history of APC without including his name would have written an incomplete story.

“History is simply repeating itself. We have been are the original founding fathers of APC. We suffered to build it so the party is my home and whatever I do is a homecoming and I’m coming with my teaming supporters to make Kano and Nigeria great.”

Speaking earlier, the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomole, stated that anybody who claimed to be a progressive politician is besides Shekarau because “I know him to be a standing progressive who means well for this country and humanity in general.’’

Oshiomole noted that the re union of Shekarau and APC would be a happy re union because together they will build a truly progressive block that would stand the test of time.

On his part, Governor Ganduje, who went down memory lane, revealed how Kwankwaso humiliated Shekarau after querying him deliberately on very minor issue which was by all standard, not administrative. “We are teaming up to fight Kwakwaso and send him to political oblivion.”

“Shekarau and I are from the same constituency because we are both bureaucrats as commissioners in the last 20 years. Shekarau was a permanent secretary at the time and we were close.”

“I’m the happiest person for Shekarau to be in APC because we share the same ideology and we are brothers. So his home coming is a huge blessing to all of us.”
