The chief of staff to Kebbi State governor, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, has declared his intention to contest for Kebbi North Senatorial seat under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC). Muhammad submitted his form of declaration to the Kebbi State APC Chairman, Ach Bala Sani Kangiwa, at the party’s secretariat in Birnin Kebbi, yesterday, amidst hundreds of his supporters. He told journalists shortly after submitting his form that he decided to join the race for Kebbi North Senatorial District in order to contribute his quota to the development of his area and Nigeria as a whole. The chief of staff also said that another reason for his ambition is to support President Buhari at the upper chamber. “I know the president is facing some challenges at the National House of Assembly, I want to be among those legislatures who will support the president to continue with his good leadership to Nigerians”, he said.
He also promised to support the diversification agenda of governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu in rice production. “My area is one of the places where lots of rice are produced in Kebbi State, I will complement the effort of the Kebbi governor to support our farmers,” he said.
