The director general, Brig-Gen Suleiman Kazaure has challenged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to be patriotic and diligent while executing their statutory responsibilities to their fatherland.

The director general, gave the charge while addressing corps members deployed to Anambra and Enugu States for the 2018 Batch “B” Stream Two service year undergoing three weeks Orientation Course at Umunya camp, Anambra State.

According to a press statement made available to LEADERSHIP by the director, Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Adenike Adeyemi, Kazaure said every Nigerian must be committed to the ideals of a united nation adding that, the corporate existence of the country is a collective responsibility of all and sundry.

He commended Anambra State government for donating a new building for the NYSC Scheme in the state.

During his address, the director general specifically warned the female corps members to avoid indecent dressing that contradicts the beliefs and cultural values of their host communities.

He also admonished them to avoid social vices like fraud, prostitution, armed robbery, hooliganism among others.

“Respect the culture of your host communities, dress like graduates, avoid night parties and be security conscious”, Kazaure said.

Anambra State coordinator, Mr Kehinde Aremu, informed the director general that a total of 2,059 corps members were registered for both Anambra and Enugu States.

He added that the corps members have exhibited exemplary behaviour since the camp commenced.
