No fewer than 80 Kaduna based artistes participated in the Planet Heart Foundation Musicians Workshop and Music Concert held at the Space 2000, Barnawa, Kaduna.

The events were organised in partnership with the Music in Africa Foundation, a pan African, non-profit organisation founded in 2013 in Nairobi, Kenya with the vision of being a leading source of information and exchange for the African music sector and coordinated by Ade Bantu.

The workshop enlightened participants on how to compile an artist’s biography, key elements of stage performance and self-promotion on all online platforms. They were also given information on touring opportunities and tour grants.

Thereafter, 35 artists were auditioned for 10 performance slots for the music concert that involved some of Kaduna’s top music acts such as Kure De Mesh, E-Fresh, Kollabo, Penny Wealth, Kushee, Purity and DJ Cinco.

The judges of the auditioning were Sensational Dashen, DJ Cinch, PK Ramos and Ade Bantu. The overall best performing artist from the Kaduna music concert would be selected by Ade Bantu and would have the opportunity to perform at the September edition of the quarterly Afropolitan Vibes in Lagos on September 21.

Mystic (Magdalene Musa), a participant at the workshop and concert expressed appreciation to Ade Bantu and the Planet Heart Foundation for the platform provided to Kaduna music artists to hone their musical skills.

She said that the events were interesting and an eye opener. DJ Cinco, one of the auditioning judges said it was an honour to be part of the programme.

The Planet Heart Foundation is a non-governmental organisation with the objectives of empowering children and the youths though arts programmes and educational scholarships. It is based in Lagos.
