Gombe: Grain Merchants Pledges Mobilisation For Guber Aspirant

Grain Merchants Association of Gombe state have pledged to mobilise resources and other residents of the state to support Alh. Habu Mu’azu, if he eventually emerges as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.

They group made the pledged on Tuesday when they visited the gubernatorial hopeful at his residence in Gombe to endorse his aspiration.

Chairman of the association, Alhaji Sani Muhammad Babayye, said thousands of grain merchants in the state resolved to support Habu Mu’azu because he had what it takes to positively change the life of Gombe people through purposeful leadership.

He said they arrived at the decision to throw their weight behind the aspiration of Mu’azu, after taking into cognizance his positive contributions to the state even before he declared his intension to contest for the governorship seat.

In his speech, Habu Mu’azu thanked the traders for their support which he described as an honour. He berated other aspirants for practicing what he called money politics.

He urged people to look at the precedent of politicians asking for their votes before electing such people into office. Mu’azu warned that once such politicians emerge as winners, “they will distance themselves from you that voted them into power, knowing that they used their money to get to that office.”

While urging the grain merchants to actively join politics to also contribute towards the development of the state. Yariman Kashere as he was popularly called, pledged to carry everybody along if he wins the election.

He added that his administration will give loans to the marketers to enable them rejuvenate their businesses and contribute towards improving the economy of the state.
