Waje Out With ‘Kponlongo’ Video

Published

on

Having had a relatively decent run so far, releasing a hit track early in the year with the song ‘I’m available’ featuring Yemi Alade, coupled with other songs, Aituaje Iruobe, popularly known as Waje, has released the visuals for her latest song ‘Kponlongo.’

And as her name implies, words aren’t just enough (WAJE) to describe the sultry diva in this video. While the word ‘Kponlongo’ itself means ‘loud’, it sets a very serene, sultry and intimate mood that featured Dem Mama Soldier’s boss, Timaya.

The female vocalist and songwriter speaking about her song expressed that “the dim set light and feel of the set made me want to love freely and just dance like my love was watching lol,” which is clearly a rarity in the singer’s videos.”

‘Kponlongo’, produced by Miconbeatz is a smooth dancehall tune that tells the story of two lovers expressing their feelings without inhibitions. The shimmery drapery in the background and the songstress’ undeniable chemistry with Timaya lends to the sensuality of the video and makes it difficult to ignore the connection we feel.

Waje who is also a social advocate and one.org brand ambassador, has one of the best vocal strength in the music industry. Omini Knowest, Left For Good, Coco Baby, Oko Mi, Na The Way, Mma Mma, Merry Christmas, Onye feat. Tiwa Savage, Jeje, Mountain and African Child.  The mother of one has different accolades and awards some of which are, Best Rhythm And Blues Singer 2011 City People Entertainment Award, Best Female Vocalist 2011 Nigerian Entertainment Awards, Best Vocal Performance 2010 South South Awards, Musician Of The Year 2013 City People Awards and Best Regga/Dance Hall Headies 2013 to name a few.
