Genevieve Nnaji Confesses To Being A Proud Feminist

Published

on

Ace Nigerian actress, Genevieve Nnaji, who recently attended the premiere of her movie ‘Lionheart’ in Toronto, has said she is proud to be a feminist.

Basking in the euphoria of the acquisition of worldwide rights to her movie by Neflix, the actress, who spoke with Women and Hollywood, an online platform, said she embraces her femininity.

She said: “I’m a proud feminist who embraces her femininity. I feel sometimes women are made to feel self-conscious and ashamed of their womanhood. Perhaps like ‘Wonder Woman’, we may wake up one day to discover that it is our superpower, and then we would be unstoppable.”

Genevieve said it is rooted in African culture and she was inspired to make the movie by “drawing inspiration from a close friend and family-run businesses in Nigeria.”
